Teacher Self-Care 101
Though many teachers look at their career as incredibly rewarding, they’re also aware as to just how demanding a career it is as well. The long nights spent grading and developing lesson plans, the faculty meetings that require attendance and the extra hours put in to help struggling students can sure take a toll on the mental and physical well-being of teachers. Inability to balance this workload is what leads to burnout, which is why teacher self-care is so important throughout the school year. When teachers are able to find time for themselves, they’re able to work toward a healthier well-being, one that’s best for them and their students. Finding the time can feel difficult, but there are moments, if just slivers of time in the day that teachers can use to care for themselves better than they might’ve the day before.
