Many Thai students go abroad to study, some do their entire programme in a foreign country while others do their final year there. If you are planning to study for your final year in a foreign university, make sure you study in a college in Thailand that has an agreement with colleges abroad. You do not want to waste 2 years in Thailand and not be allowed to carry those credit forward.
If you are studying abroad, follow these tips to make the transition easier.
Accommodation
If you decide to study MBA (called เรียนอินเตอร์บริหาร in Thai) or bachelor’s degree courses abroad, the first thing you should do is look for adequate accommodation. Certain colleges in Thailand have an agreement with international universities, and they will help you throughout the entire process, which includes finding accommodation.
If this is not the case and you need to find your own place, look for something temporary for the first few months until you get to know the area.
Student Bank Account
Once you have sorted out your accommodation, the next step should be to set up a student account with your local bank. If you do not know where to go, you can ask the university for recommendations. They usually have a bank that works with them and offers their students good rates. You can then apply for a debit or credit card, so you do not have to carry money around with you.
Learn Your Routes
Ideally, you should land in your destination a few weeks before the first day of college. This gives you the chance to learn about the area and how your best routes to and from university. If you do not live far away, try to help the environment by opting for these more suitable modes of transport.

If you live a good distance from the university, try out different routes to find out the most convenient and cost-effective option.
Join a Club or Society
If you struggle to make new friends, joining a sports club or society will make this easier. You will also get good tips on job openings if you need some extra cash.
Studying abroad for a few years or for a semester is an exciting and sometimes challenging experience. During your journey, you will learn to experience a lot of things that build character and come out a better person at the end of the trip.
